Teaching Jesus in Everyday Life
Wednesday May 29, 2024
Wednesday May 29, 2024
I am excited to share some of my thoughts on this episode of the 'Go When God Calls Podcast.' Today, we take a closer look at how everyday tasks can be used as powerful tools for teaching about Jesus and nurturing a deeper relationship with Him.
I am a missionary in Mozambique running a ministry called Beacon of Hope Africa, I have witnessed how practical learning can be a great avenue to share spiritual lessons. In this episode, I share practical examples of how we incorporate faith lessons into daily activities for teenage boys.
One of the things we emphasize in our ministry is the importance of critical thinking. By encouraging young people to think for themselves and develop new skills, we help them see the world in a new light and appreciate how God is at work in everything.
We also focus on storytelling as a way to convey spiritual lessons. By sharing our personal experiences of faith, we can inspire others to develop their own personal relationship with God.
Throughout this episode, I share some key insights from the Bible and offer practical advice on how we can all grow in our faith. Whether you're a longtime believer or just starting out, I hope you find this episode to be informative and inspiring.
So, grab a cup of your favorite drink and join me as we explore how to incorporate faith lessons into our daily lives!

How Answering God's Call Impacts Your Life
Friday May 10, 2024
Friday May 10, 2024
This episode is all about answering God's call. When we answer God's call, it brings a lot of positive change to our lives. We talk about how it affects our relationships, our careers, and our sense of purpose. I share my own experience with launching the Go Missionary Network and how it started as a vision and eventually became a reality through learning and faith.
I also talk about what the Bible says about following God's plan and how fulfilling it can be to serve others. A big takeaway from today's episode is that anyone can answer God's call, no matter how qualified they feel. So, if you feel like you're being called to something, don't be afraid to embrace it and see where it takes you!
Scriptures:
"And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men." Matthew 4:19
"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight." Proverbs 3:5-6

“Celebrating Small Victories: Finding Joy in the Journey"
Thursday May 02, 2024
Thursday May 02, 2024
In this episode I emphasizes that small victories are worth celebrating on our spiritual journey. I encourage listeners to shift their focus from what they lack or the challenges they face to the blessings they have and the small wins they have achieved. This perspective helps develop a sense of gratitude and a stronger faith in God that can guide us through our darkest moments. This episode beautifully illustrates that small victories can be as simple as waking up every day with gratitude and acknowledging that God is present in our lives. By embracing small victories and celebrating them, we strengthen our spiritual foundation and step out in obedience to God's calling to fulfill the purpose he has for our lives.
Small victories require perseverance, faith, patience, and resilience, but they are worth celebrating and can impact the way we live our lives. Ultimately, every small win is a step closer to fulfilling God's purpose for our lives, growing our spiritual muscles, and becoming a better version of ourselves.
I also shared these encouraging scriptures:
“Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin.” Zechariah 4:10
“Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

In this episode, I'm talking about how to get started in missions by taking a mission’s trip. Whether you're interested in serving on a mission or just curious about what it's like, I'll cover everything from the basics to the spiritual growth that happens when you serve others. I talk about getting ready for a mission’s trip by making sure you have a passport and the right visas to travel. You'll also need to plan how to raise money to pay for your trip.
I'll share stories from my own experiences on missions’ trips to places like Argentina, Guatemala, and Mozambique. I'll explain why it's important to be physically fit, respectful of other cultures, and ready to serve spiritually. We’ll also talk about how to handle challenges like not being able to speak the language, different foods, and staying healthy.
Doing a mission trip can help you learn and grow in many ways. You can be ready by preparing yourself spiritually, praying, and being open to how it can change your life and the lives of others. Friday Apr 12, 2024
In this podcast episode, I I interview Don and Terri Larson about their journey from America to Mozambique and how Don Founded the Sunshine Nut Company and how their cashew factory has a unique business model of giving 90% of profits back to the community. They emphasize the integration of business and mission and the need for sustainable investment in communities. Don emphasizes that their business journey began as a response to God's call and emphasizes the importance of partnership, personal conviction, and dedication to one's calling. They also discuss their personal experiences of surrendering to the Lord and the importance of relationships in their journey.
Don also shares about his business venture in Mozambique, which involves vertically integrating from farm to finished product. They plan to start a new project in Nampula, which involves giving families their own plot of land and 500 cashew trees, increasing their income from $33 a year to $5,000. This economic transformation also allows for the introduction of transformation centers where they can teach finance courses, ethics, health practices, and micro finance. They discuss the guiding principles and objectives of Don's company, emphasizing transformation, community excellence, and unity. They also outline plans to address challenges such as exploitation, corruption, malnutrition, and inadequate healthcare, and the importance of supporting vulnerable groups such as widowed and orphaned women and children.

Embracing the Unexpected
Friday Apr 05, 2024
Friday Apr 05, 2024
In today's episode, I shared about the importance of embracing the unexpected in life, especially when answering God's call, whether it's in missions or any other aspect of our journey with Jesus. I recounted my own experiences of planning to set up clinics in Mozambique, only to discover God's unexpected plan of ministering to teenagers.
Despite facing challenges and unexpected turns, I learned the value of flexibility, trust, and faith in God's bigger plan. It's crucial to be prepared for the unknown and to remember that God's plans are always better than ours. So, as you step out in faith, be flexible, trust God, and know that He will guide you through any unexpected circumstances.
Remember, as Proverbs 3:5-6 says, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight."
Let Jeremiah 29:11 reassure you: "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
Trusting in God's plans and remaining flexible in our journey allows us to navigate life's unexpected twists with confidence and peace.
In a few weeks I will be hosting a Zoom call on the Go Missionary Networks Facebook group. If you have any questions or want to learn more about missions, this is your chance to chat with me and get some answers. Stay tuned for more details, and I hope to see you there!

Listening for God's Voice
Saturday Mar 23, 2024
Saturday Mar 23, 2024
On today's episode, we're diving into the topic of listening for God's voice. Imagine having a direct line of communication with someone who can provide all the answers and support you need. That's exactly what listening for God's voice is all about! By spending time in prayer, reading the Bible, even listening to others, and discerning through situations, we can become more attuned to God's voice. We'll explore practical tips for slowing down in our fast-paced lives to create space for hearing God's voice and explore the importance of this practice especially for missionaries who may face cultural and spiritual barriers.
Everything is better when we develop a personal relationship with Jesus. Throughout the years, I have seen God speak to me in so many ways, and for me, the biggest challenge is sitting still. However, I encourage you in your everyday life to develop that special time with God and practice the Holy Huddle, as He will speak to you. Remember to be patient and persistent in seeking Him, and trust that He will guide you in His timing. Don't miss out on this enlightening episode!
