Teaching to Multiply: Empowering Others with What You've Learned

Navigating Culture and Language: My Missionary Journey in Mozambique

In this episode of Go When God Calls, I share my personal journey of navigating language and culture as a missionary in Mozambique. I reflect on the challenges of adapting to Mozambican customs, including learning about respectful communication and ways to connect with the local community. I also talk about my experience learning Portuguese and how it has shaped my interactions with the people I serve. Forgiving For Freedom

In today’s episode of Go When God Calls, I talk about the power of forgiveness and how it helps set us free from anger and hurt. I share a story from my own life, like the time I was hurt by someone I trusted in my early missionary days. We’ll see why forgiving is so important for our spiritual growth.

We also look at how Jesus forgave others, even when He was suffering on the cross. I talk about a recent conversation with my teenage boys during Bible class here at Beacon of Hope – Africa, explaining that forgiveness isn’t just for other people—it’s for us, too, so we can live for God. We’ll also cover how forgiving ourselves can be one of the hardest but most freeing things we can do. Join me as we learn to let go of heavy burdens and find peace.

I’ve been working in Mozambique, Africa, for almost 24 years, and even though I have a lot of experience, I still struggle with not being able to fix everything.

I want to share with you how I’ve learned that my job isn’t to solve every problem but to help others learn and grow. Whether it’s making cookies to practice math or giving a whistle for security, it’s about doing what we can and trusting God to handle the rest. In this episode, we welcome Melissa, who shares her incredible journey of faith as a missionary in Wales. From fulfilling a lifelong dream to live in the UK to facing life-altering challenges, Melissa opens up about her husband's accident shortly after their move and the struggles that followed. Ageless Impact, How God Uses Us At Every Stage Of Life

In this episode of "Go When God Calls," I talk about how God can use us at any age to do His work, no matter what we’re going through. I share stories from the Bible about people like David, Timothy, Moses, and Sarah, who followed God’s call even when they were young or old. I also talk about my own journey with rheumatoid arthritis and how it hasn’t stopped me from serving God. I want to remind you that your age or any challenges you face don't have to keep you from making a difference.

I encourage you to listen as I share how we can all find our unique role in God’s plan, whether it’s right where we are or somewhere far away. I also talk about the importance of helping others who are doing God’s work around the world. I end with a reminder that God’s plans for us are important and ongoing, and we need to trust Him and step out in faith to fulfill them.
